Deep value stocks with a Piotroski F-Score of 8 or more

By Michael Lip. Screener data generated 2026-06-15 16:32:17 UTC. Updated 2026-10-28.

49 of the 451 screened stocks score 8 or more on the Piotroski F-Score, out of a maximum of 9. 19 of those score a perfect 9. 11 carry the screen's B grade. 40 of the 49 have a market cap under $10B, and 16 are under $1B. 7 of the 49 have a full research page on this site; the rest come from the screener feed only. The table lists every name, highest score first, and a linked ticker opens its company page.

What the F-Score measures

The Piotroski F-Score adds nine binary tests on two years of financial statements. Four test profitability, three test leverage and liquidity, and two test operating efficiency. A high score means the reported numbers improved year over year. It does not mean the shares are cheap. That is why this list shows the score beside the grade and the market cap: the score answers "is the business getting better", and the grade answers "is it cheap enough to own".

A score of 8 or 9 puts a company in the top decile of this universe. The distribution below shows how thin that tail is: 49 stocks score 8 or more, while 372 score 7 or less. Read the full definition and run the nine tests yourself on the Piotroski F-Score calculator.

"Analyst upside" is the mean sell-side target against the screener price. It is a consensus number, not this site's fair value estimate. A dash means no analyst target was recorded.

How to use the list without getting hurt

A high F-Score is a quality signal on reported numbers, and reported numbers can be managed. A company can improve its score by selling receivables, stretching payables or cutting inventory, and none of those changes the long-run cash flow. Before you treat a name here as a candidate, read its risk list on the company page. Of the 409 risks documented across the coverage universe, 171 are rated high and 9 critical, and the most common ways a deep value thesis breaks are set out in a separate article.

The score also says nothing about price. Two stocks with a 9 can trade at very different multiples of earnings and free cash flow. Check the valuation inputs on each company page before you decide that a high score is a buy signal. It is not one, and nothing on this page is investment advice.

For informational and educational purposes only. Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation, offer or solicitation to buy or sell any security. Screen output changes as filings arrive. Verify every figure against the company's SEC filings before acting. Small-cap stocks are volatile and thinly traded, and you can lose all of the capital you put in.
